Challenge

Ottlub needed to move an inherited OpenCart installation away from a default storefront into a calm, premium, trustworthy home décor shopping experience. The site had to reflect an Organic Earthy Living identity while supporting curated categories such as Curtains, Vases, Tissue Boxes, Fur Rugs & Carpets, Office Décor, Mats, and Kitchen Décor. The work also had to stay inside native OpenCart 3.0.5.0 rather than introducing a separate frontend framework.

Solution

CloudGoUp audited the inherited OpenCart setup and delivered a custom Ottlub theme using OpenCart 3.0.5.0, PHP, Twig templates, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, and the existing OpenCart extension system. The transformation included homepage redesign, product-card and shopping interaction improvements, category filtering, one-page checkout refinements, cart popup usability fixes, admin branding updates, demo catalog preparation, database and environment setup support, live server configuration, deployment troubleshooting, and production launch fixes.

Outcomes

  • Transformed the inherited OpenCart store into a branded Organic Earthy Living e-commerce experience
  • Created a calm, warm, premium UI aligned with Ottlub's home décor identity
  • Improved homepage, category, product-card, cart popup, and checkout flows without adding a separate frontend framework
  • Prepared demo catalog content and curated décor categories for Curtains, Vases, Tissue Boxes, Fur Rugs & Carpets, Office Décor, Mats, and Kitchen Décor

Implementation approach

CloudGoUp treats each case study as a connected system rather than an isolated interface. The planning work covers user journeys, content structure, technical architecture, measurement, performance, and operational handoff so the project can support future growth instead of becoming difficult to maintain after launch.

The same approach can be adapted for new builds, redesigns, audits, migrations, analytics improvements, and staged roadmaps where the business needs progress without losing control of quality or scope.

Conversion path

Product discovery, category flow, product detail clarity, trust signals, cart behavior, and checkout friction need to be reviewed as one journey.

Measurement

GA4, GTM, Meta Pixel, Meta CAPI, product events, lead events, and checkout events should be aligned before campaigns scale.

Operations

Catalog updates, promotions, admin ownership, inventory constraints, shipping, payment, and support workflows shape the technical plan.

Planning questions

What this kind of project needs before implementation

  • Which product, category, cart, checkout, and lead events are needed for reliable reporting?
  • Where do mobile shoppers lose confidence or slow down before conversion?
  • What content and catalog workflows should the admin team manage without developer help?
  • Which platform limitations should be improved now and which should become part of a future roadmap?
